The TVL All-League baseball teams have been announced, and five Buffaloes find themselves on the them.
Seniors Rayce Fisher and Hunter Lamond, along with junior Jackson Kolterman, were named 1st Team All-League. The nomination is Rayce's first, as the third baseman had his best season yet as a senior. He finished with a .364 batting average this season, and finished his career in 5th place on the school's all-time list with the 5th most hits and 3rd most home runs in school history.
Hunter also earns his first All-League nomination, finishing the year with one of the best hitting performances in school history. His on-base percentage, slugging percentage, OPS, and home runs were all top 5 in school history for a single season. He also finishes his career having played in 79 games as a 4-year starter, the most games any player has played in an Onaga uniform.
Jackson earns his third straight 1st Team honors, as he had the best statistical season Onaga baseball has seen. The junior broke the single-season marks for batting average, on-base percentage, slugging percentage, OPS, triples, home runs, total bases, extra-base hits, and was just shy of breaking the hits and RBI records as well. He also was 7-3 on the mound, and finished with top 5 single-season performances in many of those categories as well.
Junior L.J. Koelzer earned his first All-League honors as well. He finished his second season as a starter with top-10 single season performances in several categories, while also serving as a defensive specialist for the team. He played catcher, center field, short stop, and pitcher at different times for the Buffaloes in 2024 as one the team's top defensive players.
Freshman Xavier Berges burst onto the scene with one of the best first-year performances since baseball started at Onaga. He broke the school's record for first-year players in both batting average and on-base percentage as the team's designated hitter, hitting for over a .400 average and recording the 5th highest on-base percentage that any player has ever recorded in a single season.
