Sophomores Lillie Weiser and Emmarsyn Fordham went back to the state track meet this weekend for the second year in a row, and this time they came home from Wichita with some hardware.
Lillie came in tied for the highest pole vault in the state, and ended up placing 4th in the event with a vault of 10'6". She also competed in the triple jump, and hit a new personal record with a jump of 34'11.5". That leap was good enough for 6th place in 1A, and earned her another trip to the podium.
Emmarsyn competed in the shot put, a day after helping the softball team win the first round of the state tournament in Pratt. She finished with a throw of 36'5.25", giving her a 5th place finish in the event and a spot on the podium.
