Last Friday morning Onaga held its Spelling Bee. Although this is an annual event, this year was a little different thanks to Covid. All students were given the same list of 25 words, which is different than the usual format. The words were also said aloud on the Scripps Online Testing Platform in the commons area instead of the usual setup in the auditorium. It gave the origin of the word, part of speech, and used the word in a sentence.
When it was all said and done, Lillie Weiser was the Spelling Bee Champion and Emily Wrosch earned Runner-Up. They will both participate in the Pottawatomie County Spelling Bee in St. Mary's on Saturday, January 23rd.
Congratulations Lillie and Emily and good luck on Saturday!
